Liberata Dance Theater

Myrena Sint Jago, Artistic Director

This Curacaon dance theater performs explorations in identity and politics for people of Curacao. Its commentary is on economics, slave history, and a biased European influence on the African identity of a people.

Myrena and I go back to my days at Ailey. We pride ourselves on the discipline of "old school" teachings. As she continues to embrace actors, singers and musicians into the works of Liberata, we collectively impart our education and experience in these varied disciplines, in offering clear subject intent, professionalism and performance integrity. I hold high Myrena’s involvement in the community, her humanitarian efforts and concern for the world at large.
