Mickey Davidson, Artistic Director
A performance company in the traditions of the Black Dance vernacular, with concentrations in Tap and Swing. I was introduced to Mickey in 2004 just after returning to New York. I needed work, and Mickey quickly provided me with a study of the Black Dance vernacular. I studied her scripted lecture demonstrations and rehearsed the accompanying dances from African to Swing. My experiences and performances with Mickey have always reflected professional integrity and an honest soulful vibe, as we catered to audiences from 6 to 60. Mickey’s dedication in maintaining the legacies of authentic Swing and rhythm Tap, have inspired me in efforts of continued pedagogy in Black Dance vernacular.
I am honored and humbled in continuing Mickey’s legacy in dance at Wesleyan University in Connecticut.
