Vida Vierra, Artistic Director

Celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Brazil, bridging contemporary and folkloric dances of the Orixa and the spirit of Carnival. I first met Vida Vierra when I journeyed to Long Beach, California for the Brazilian Independence Day Festival. Enamored by my years of samba, she quickly invited me to perform with Swing Brazil the following day. This company, composed of eclectic and varied performers, sparked a fever in the Los Angeles dance culture through it’s classes, workshops, parties and impromptu performances. The global unification of spirit and culture initiated by Vida, outstretched its arms in providing guidance and healing to anyone passing its threshold. My most memorable experience was the launching of  UCLA’s Sacred Music Festival: Honoring the Sea and the New Years Eve Jubilee 2000 tour with Perry Farrell.
