Viver Brasil Dance Company

Luiz Badaró, Co-Artistic Director

The hallmark of Viver Brasil's work is its Interpretive contemporary Afro-Brazilian folkloric dance. New concepts in traditional dance vocabulary, paralleled with the African influence in Salvador Bahia, Brazil. I worked with Viver between 2000 and 2004. Already well versed in Brazilian folklore, I learned and gained a great deal from the artistic direction of Badaró, and choreography of Roseangela Silvestre. The Silvestre technique imparted from Viver is an intensive choreographic study in the energetic qualities of Orixa study, through dynamic contemporary technique and choreography. I also credit my pedagogical studies to the teachings of this company.
